Adrian was a star! Tacos with opening house, who can beat that? The entire open house was booked and even had some late shows. The house was sold in less than a week and we didn’t sacrifice the price. Adrian walked me through the sale of my first home and made it a easy and painless experience.

My two siblings and I recently moved to San Diego and bought a house. We were in a rush to buy a house and our agent Alex Conti was very efficient in helping us get the house we liked. I got connected with Clayton Connolly and his team approx. 6 months back (while I moved from Madison, WI to San Diego ) and it has been a great experience altogether. As renters we were faced with the landlord’s short-notice to sell, and the ridiculously expensive current rental market. I’ve intended to write this review since I closed on my house in late November 2022. To say that I like to procrastinate is putting it mildly. That can’t be said of my fantastic realtor, Steve Lucal and the wonderful team at Whissel Realty Group.From the outset the idea of buying a home in San Diego where I’ve lived for 20 years was frightening. I had been married for 34 years, was now divorced and worried about trying to buy. Steve was professional, patient and the voice of reason during my struggle to convince myself that I could and should buy a home.Steve worked with me from May of 2021 until and after I closed in November 2022. It was me that put the brakes on multiple times. Steve never hesitated to let me know that it was ok to be nervous but would then point out, with facts why it would be good to purchase. He learned from our first conversation what I was looking from and never wasted my time or his by showing me houses either out of my preferred area, price or style.He would call to check in a few weeks after I’d told him I was done looking. Angela and Jennifer were awesome to work with. They were fast in their responses and actions. My boyfriend was stationed in Germany and wanted to purchase a condo to move into as soon as he arrived in San Diego. I can’t speak highly enough about my experience of using Joel Schneider with Whissel as my seller’s agent. He took a complicated property and made it feel truly easy. He had a marketing and pricing strategy that paid out big time; It was not what I would have expected, and I truly believe that his plan led to a quick sale with a highly qualified buyer at maximum price in a slowing market. Joel was quick with communication and the very few times he didn’t have the answer he went back to (what appears to be) the incredibly supportive team at Whissel, and followed up quickly. Jordan Graham of Whissel Realty gave me a call asking if I would be willing to sell a home in La Mesa that was occupied by a renter who had been living there for 7 years. Jordan approached my property manager about arranging a day he could show the house to other realtors but the property manager didn't want to bother the tenant. Nevertheless, Jordan was able to arrange acquiring photos of the outside of the home and within a week of listing the property, we had 5 offers (4 of the offers were above the listing price) without anyone looking inside the home. I accepted one of the offers that specified no inspections could be made until the existing tenant moved out (60 days after I accepted the offer). Jordan did a fantastic job working with the buyer's realtor to perform all inspections needed to complete the buyer's loan process after the tenant moved out. The experience of selling the home I grew up in was very smooth thanks to Jordan.

When this Estate was assigned to me through the court I immediately started putting my team together that would assist me in a successful endeavor. I knew right off the bat that Laura Pachlin was going to be my realtor. We have had history in the past as she was my realtor for my current home. The level of integrity that she displayed was above that of any other realtor that I had talked to prior to my selection at the time. I find it amusing when Realtors talk to me as if I was some type of turnip that just fell off a truck. But in reality this is not my first rodeo with purchasing homes and or building homes. Laura was able to pick up on that rather quickly which made our realtor/client relationship flow smoothly. With her 21 years experience in the field she is probably seen it all. She knows where to set the price points and get the people who are actually interested in purchasing to the property. Once there Laura was able to discuss the issues regarding the property and convey what was needed for a successful transfer of title. Not to say, there were hiccups along the way, such as the photographer who did not know what a pilot light was or how it functioned thus causing a disruption in the days activities. My crew still laughs about that. But if you're in the business of selling homes you should hire people that know about homes. All in all, the home was sold and the new buyers are pleasantly restoring it to its original luster. So now it's on board to other real estate adventures

Louis was a referral from a friend….He is so insightful, knowledgeable, timely, and efficient from beginning to end! We looked at 3 houses on a Sunday (yes a Sunday!) made an offer Monday, seller accepted on Tuesday. Got the Seller to pay for $16k worth of credit AND got Termite Clearance paid (even though seller counter was for buyer to pay Clearance). Pick Louis to be your Real Estate Agent! Louis really is the best and I can’t recommend him enough. He really is and we know that because we’ve been working with him off and on for 3 years to buy a home in a really tough market. He’s not pushy at all, even when we’d been looking at houses every weekend for 3 months straight. He’s incredibly responsive to texts, phone calls, and emails and always made time for us to see houses. Not only does he accompany you to all the viewings, but when it was time to do inspections, he hangs around at the house for hours on end while all of the inspections are completed. I’m not just referring to the general home inspection; he met all of the inspectors (sewer, roof, electrical, termite) at the house and hung around for hours while they worked so we didn’t have to.On a couple of occasions, we got back some really bleak inspection reports and wanted to pull out of the deal. A lot of realtors would’ve pushed back against our wishes, especially after having spent months up to this point working with us, but not Louis. He understood where we were coming from and even spoke up when he didn’t feel like the sellers were being honest with us, knowing full well we’d have to start the search process over again. I really can’t stress enough how great it is to work with Louis. Buying a home is a huge purchase and an important life event and Louis made us feel comfortable the entire time, never pushing us toward a home or contract we didn’t feel good about. I can’t recommend him enough.DISCLAIMER: To be clear, it didn’t take us months to find a home because of anything to do with Louis. We’re picky by nature and we also found it hard to put forth a compelling offer in a market where a lot of buyers were paying in cash and/or waiving the appraisal, which is not something we could afford to do.

Let's face it, moving is a daunting task. It's just as difficult finding a quality realtor that you feel comfortable with. I've only had a couple of realtors in the past that did do the job, but our personalities were so different it made the whole process of buying and selling very frustrating. I reached out to Ric for my second home sale because I've known him for years. I hesitated because you're not supposed to do business with friends or family. I’ve intended to write this review since I closed on my house in late November 2022. To say that I like to procrastinate is putting it mildly. That can’t be said of my fantastic realtor, Steve Lucal and the wonderful team at Whissel Realty Group.From the outset the idea of buying a home in San Diego where I’ve lived for 20 years was frightening. I had been married for 34 years, was now divorced and worried about trying to buy. Steve was professional, patient and the voice of reason during my struggle to convince myself that I could and should buy a home.Steve worked with me from May of 2021 until and after I closed in November 2022. It was me that put the brakes on multiple times. Steve never hesitated to let me know that it was ok to be nervous but would then point out, with facts why it would be good to purchase. He learned from our first conversation what I was looking from and never wasted my time or his by showing me houses either out of my preferred area, price or style.He would call to check in a few weeks after I’d told him I was done looking. Never to pressure me, just to say hi, ask about my dogs and chat about his family. He called my one day and spoke to me about interest rates, house prices rising, falling and so on. But what got to me and made me think for the first time, really think was when he said that I needed to have a home. There were some personal issues that I had told him about and speaking with him I realized that he knew me almost better than myself.
