East County Eats – The Hills Local Pub, La Mesa, CA

What is a Pepper-jack Mac Burger, and how do you get your hands on one? We’re so glad you asked! Kyle Whissel is heading to The Hills Local Pub in La Mesa, CA to get a plateful and give us the scoop.

Fun fact; The owners of Eastbound Bar & Grill decided La Mesa needed it’s own local joint, and partnered up again to give us yet another amazing restaurant. If you’re a fan of good food, craft beer, Eastbound Bar & Grill, or awesome’re going to love The Hills. Over the course of filming this episode we have tried most of their menu, and haven’t been able to find something that disappointed us. A particular favorite – Dragon Tiger Phoenix – It’s their spin on fried chicken and waffles, and it is unreal. Delicious fried chicken with a hollandaise sriracha, and bread pudding with a brown sugar reduction. (yum).

In addition to being a charming local pub, The Hills in La Mesa is helping us live our lazy weekend dreams by rewarding people with a $5 unlimited waffle bar, and $3 mimosas for showing up in their pj’s for breakfast on the weekends. Yeah. You’re welcome.
