One of the most desirable places to live in Southern California is Serra Mesa. The convenient location in San Diego County has a population of approximately 24,000 people with 8,374 housing units. This area of San Diego County once belonged to Spain and was known as the Mission Rancho Lands. In 1834 this section of the land was deeded to Don Santiago Arguello who, in turn, sold part of it. It was in the 1950’s after the Korean War when the navy built the Cabrillo Heights housing project and started developing the area.
Serra Mesa is a neighborhood in the eastern part of San Diego. There are other neighborhoods nearby, but its idyllic climate and gentle foothills, along with several nearby attractions, are a big appeal.
