Over 3,000,000 acres of California land has been burned by wildfires. Kyle Whissel explains three ways you can give back during these crazy times.

As we all know, this has been an unprecedented year when it comes to wildfires all across the West Coast, especially in California, there's been over 3,000,000 acres of land that have been burned. Tons of families have lost their homes, and some people have even lost their lives. It has been just a rough freaking year, right? I mean, 2020 is a year that we will not soon forget, although I'm sure we would all love to.

But as these tough times occurred, there are opportunities to help, there are opportunities to give back to those that are in need during these crazy times. Want to point out three organizations specifically that are doing good things to give back during these times.

One that we've probably all heard of before is GoFundMe. Traditionally with GoFundMee, we think about, you know, somebody starts to raise funds for whatever particular cause, but GoFundMe always takes a little piece of that. And I don't know about you, but I don't always feel good about them taking a little piece of it. But here's what they're doing during this time is they're actually doing grants to individuals and to organizations that have been affected by the fires, which is an amazing thing for them to do. And if you aren't familiar with grants, grants means they're just giving people money. So it's awesome to see that some of that money that they have made over the years, they're doing their part in giving grants out to help individuals and organizations that have been affected.

Number two is Meals of Gratitude. These guys are doing some really cool things where you can make a donation and they will donate meals to the firefighters. These men and women that are out there fighting these fires are putting in extremely long days in extremely high temperatures, and you know, this is a tough job. This is a life and death thing. And they're out there on the front lines just trying to protect you and me. So let's do our part and give back and donate some meals to those firefighters.

The third one is the California Fire Foundation. They've got a bunch of different ways that they're giving back. They're giving out $250 gift cards to victims of the fires. They also are giving away funds to families who have had a firefighter lose their life. And they're doing a lot of community involvement projects as well to give back. So we're going to include links to all three of those organizations. We're also going to include a link 'cause there's a lot of other amazing people that are doing good things. These aren't the only three, there's a ton of them so we're going to include a link so that you can do your part and give back to those that have been affected and those that are in need. So let's do our part, I know I'm going to do mine. Hopefully you're going to do yours.
