Buying a Home Step Four: Negotiating

Welcome to Clayton Connolly's Homeschool 101 where we talk about the basics of buying a home in 60 seconds or less.

Step four, negotiating.

In today's competitive market a lot of people are negotiating on a lot of properties but we have a winning strategy that's simple.

  1. First, we build a rapport. I call the agent directly or even send videos, introduce myself, the caliber of our team, who you are as a buyer and make that connection.

  2. Step two, we want to write a winning offer. That includes price and terms. I find out ahead of time about what the seller is looking for. Make sure that it aligns with our budget and write a professional offer.

  3. Number three, we present it. We also want to personalize other elements like who you are, who you are as a buyer. So, we also write a love letter talking about your motivation for the home, what you love about it.

You put all those things together present it to the agent, and voila, we get an acceptance and then we're off to the races.
