Searching for the perfect place to spend a spooky October afternoon or weekend night? Get into the Halloween spirit with a visit to one of America's most haunted locales: The Whaley House. Built in the mid-1800s by the Whaley family, the grounds formerly were the location of the town gallows and the place where the infamous criminal Yankee Jim Robinson met his maker. Following the construction of the Whaley's family home several tragedies befell the family including suicide, death and hardship.

This home in Old Town San Diego is the perfect Halloween destination due to it's apparently constant ghostly activity. Supposed spirits roaming the halls include the previously mentioned Yankee Jim Robinson, Thomas Whaley and his wife: Anna, their daughter, great-grandaughter and even their fox terrier: Dolly Varden.

For a full night of Whaley House fun make sure to explore their October events including Past & Presence Ghost Tours and after-hours Ghost Hunts.
