What’s the quickest, easiest way to add value to your home when selling? You make it look and feel bigger. How do you make it look and feel bigger?

It’s all about the lighting. Lighting is everything when selling your home. The brighter you can make your home, the bigger your offers will be. Here are a few simple tips to make your home brighter.

First, every window in your home has to be sparkling clean, so clean the inside and outside of each one. Also, take the screens out and clean them with a hose. The more natural light you allow into your house, the bigger it will feel.

Next, make sure all of your interior lights to have the same hue. Soft white is the ideal color. Also, make sure each light works. You’d be shocked how many times I walk into a home that already listed or is about to be, and see burnt-out light bulbs. It’s easy to forget about that kind of thing if you’re the seller, but buyers will definitely notice that. In their mind, they’ll wonder: If you’re too lazy to change a light bulb, what else are you too lazy to do?

Lastly, use the brightest wattage possible for each light fixture. The brighter the bulbs, the more light you’ll generate.
