Searching for the perfect summer night spent stargazing, hiking, camping and learning about the California landscape? This summer you're in luck with the reopening of overnight campgrounds at the Kumeyaay Lake Campgrounds in Mission Trails Regional Park. After a two year shutdown as a result of budget cuts, the campground has recently reopened to several excited parties awaiting all of the activities that camping right outside your back door has to offer.

Only a 20 minute drive from downtown San Diego and just over 10 minutes from El Cajon, Mission Trails Regional Park provides welcome respite from the daily hustle and bustle of living around a city. The campground will remain day-use only Sunday through Thursday, but the weekend will be filled with overnight camping potential. Approximately 46 campsites await visitors along with picnic tables and restrooms. Make sure to make your reservation now and enjoy your night under the stars!
